So my wife calls me this morning as I'm leaving work to tell me my ato pump is sucking air and the tank is empty. So I think okay 10 gallons dumped into the sump. No big deal the sump can hold the water. I get home and see the filter sock is up against the side of the sump and is full and dumping water into the stand. The stand is waterproof so idc but now my salinity is at 1.021 and I'm worried about my sps. Other than that I found a few spots on the stand where the silicone needs to be redone because my floor is wet. Yay. I'll be drying carpet instead of going to sleep

Nope the filter sock was overflowing and was too close to the edge and water went over the side of the sump

I'm pretty sure they noticed the change. My recommendation would be to take it back up slowly. Each day instead of using RODI for ATO, use new saltwater. It'll slowly raise the salinity back up without too much work.

+1. Just put some salt mix in ur ATo for a couple days until u see its back up. Hope everything does fine.

I had this happen once . I brought it back up too 1.025 right away every thing did fine i cant say yours will or it was the right way i was just worried what was lesser of two evils dropping quick to low and leaving low slowly bringing bck up or just bam back up. My thinking was bring back to normal fast i mean we dip stuff in chemicals yea pisses em off for few hrs but then they back in good water and they settle down i didnt like the idea of leaving em in bad conditions for few days till parameters were good like i said i could be totally wrong but thay was my thinking when it happened to me. Good luck im sure im the only one thinks this way lol since dont even acclimate fish haha.

I almost had this happen a couple weeks ago. I've made sure to stay diligent with cleaning my filter sock religiously. I'm also going to DIY about 2-3 dozen so that I constantly have them on hand in case I don't have time or am too lazy to clean them
