Had a bad day yesterday. My dad calls Thursday morning at 3am saying he needs a shopvac because his basement is flooding. So I go downstairs. I live in a 2400 sqft bi-level. Last step and squish!
First thing I think of is the fishtank broke, till I notice its still full.
1200 sqft covered in 2" of rain water that came up my floor drains. Worst part is all of the carpet/ wood floor is less than 6 months old.
So for 18 hours my father in law and I tore it all out, vacuumed up water, and mopped.
My question is, any precautions to take with my fishtank? I have it cycling so no livestock. I do need to pull the sump out to clean and replace the board beneith it. My tank stand is homebuilt and since I knew it would be sitting on concrete, I used treated lumber.
Can u cover the whole thing with a tarp? I may be doing drywall work too.
