So i was driving around and i found an awesome deal at a garage sale..

Its a glass rectangle cube for $5

Long side 15 inch short side 12 inch and height is 15 inch.. Glass is about 4 inches thick.. Tested it with water.. Holds just fine

Was wondering if its a good idea to make it into an aquarium? Its too heavy compared to the regular glass aquariums..

I was thnking of making it into my new frogfishes home

SEAHORSES!!! Or a display fuge. Frogfish home is cool too, but this unique tank holds limitless possibilities :)

Hmm seahorses seems awesome :) saltwatercritters.com have good deals on them.. Your right possibilities are limitless like u said :)

With a tank that size, and that deep, it'd be very easy to set up mangroves, tall plants, etc, and whatnot for the seahorses to cling to, and you wouldn't need a ton of items in the tank either. It'd be very easy to build a DIY overflow/back filter. But I'm partial to seahorses :) I almost posted the link to saltwatercritters.com too, lol.

Seahorse sound like a good idea, but I would reccomend somthing less labor intensive. Seahorse are the finickest of finicky. Alot of them don't accept frozen foods and some require cooler temps as well.

Yeah thats my only concern with them:(

2 or 3 nice pieces of Tonga, a simple LED fixture hung high, and pristine water quality would make this tank an amazing acro/mille nanoscape.

Cooler temps and live foods wouldn't be an issue in a species only tank though. You could even breed copepods in main tank and feed, or even grow mysis in tank with them.

Yes very true! but again addition gear (ie chiller/fan/evap) would make the savings on that tiny tank a waste. Growing cope or mysis in the tank would require feed them as well. Those feeding with out proper WC and such would make a poor environment. Especially in a small environment as the one we are talking about. In which the parameters would swing daily. Having Seahorse is very rewarding, but not giving them the care and respect that they need would just be a waste of their little lives.

The future aquarium hold about 11g that's a decent size Jeff. Lets see what don't you have yet???? Coral-check, Fish-check, Inverts-? hmmm.

What about Harlequin shrimp? Mantis Shrimp?

The mangrove idea sound cool too. Just not sure what else would go with those. Well what ever it is bro. Good luck!

Thanks isaac... Hmm hard decision.. I do like the harlequin shrimp idea but i dnt knw if i can handle giving its food of starfish every week(too much money)

Maybe a mantis shrimp.. They are awesome inverts..

But i gotta decide wether i should drill an overflow or just have a hang on the back over or a hob filter...

Any ideas bro?

No not yet.... Im on the look out for one right now lol

Thnks man.. I may try a sps and lps only.. Just gotta see what fish/ invert to put in

Haha so how many nano's do you have in you collection? You know I didn't even think about the harlequin.… they do need an endless supply of starfish limbs.

Hahah i got too many lol.. I maybe selling my nuvo to have some space for this new tank.. I wish i had a fish room like u lol

Oh yea it's real nice!!! But two is the max, have little over a year left in the Chicagoland area. You know I am going to miss it here.
