Frag tank build question

I would like to build a frag/grow out tank .....I would like to build it 18 x 18 so I could use one par 38 led ...... What would be the best depth seeing as how I like the shallow top down viewing look. I can make the sump larger to increase the total volume or is that not a good plan?

I would say about 10 inches.

I say 12" as you will lose 2" if rimless using an overflow box.. Which should get you 10" of water vs 8"

Also make sure you change the lens to 120 optics..

Here is my tank 18x18x8 with one PAR38 using 90 optics

Didn't like the spread..

So here is one with no optics but spread was crazy.. Just not sure on PARR readings.

If you look in my build.. I will have parr readings using 90 & 120 optics
