Frustration..............

Well its been one of those frustrating last couple weeks in reef keeping.
AND before anyone says anything, in the 40 years I have had saltwater tanks (off and on) I have never quarantined a single fish nor have I ever lost any to any disease. Until Now :(
I believe the Achilles we got had flukes. I opted not to FW dig him due to the stress of it with a already easily stressed fish. Now I wished I had. Pretty much wiped out the tank. Out of the 26 fish there is only 4 Chomis, 1 yellow tang (doesnt look the best) and a wrasse. Everyone else gone. In the panick we tried PraziPro in the tank but it was too late. Then to top it off with the meds we had to turn off carbon, gfo and the skimmer so now I have a algea outbreak. Hopefully the seahare will start knocking it out along with everything back online. My main problem is I cant catch the last few to get them into quarentine! I REALLY do not want to take out 300+ pounds of rock and corals to get them! I have tried a fish trap and a homeade bottle fish trap with no success. Any suggestions on this? I got to get the tank fallow to get rid of this SH*T! Thank god it doesnt effect corals!
Have I learned my lesson and will start quarentining? No. I am just gong to be more observant of a fish before buying them. Call me crazy............
Definately was a expensive lesson on fish disease!
Oh well......now to get the tank fallow for awhile so I can start over with the fish!

starve them Chromis for a few days and they'll get hungry enuf to eat out of the trap . problem solved !! Oh do tell what LFS

All fish coming out of Hawaii have flukes. Same goes for Florida. Sorry to hear about the tank though. If it makes you feel better just about all of us have brought in sick fish that wipe out our systems at one point or another. The fact that you haven’t had any sick fish in 40 years is amazing! Good luck with the chromis. They can be tuff but if you starve them for a few days and leave a large net under where you feed you can just add some food above the net and scoop them up when they are feeding.
