So i have been having trouble growing cheato. Its been the same size for a few months. Not withering away and not growing either. I have one of those 10 galllon hood lights over the fuge with a 50/50 bulb but I don't think its doing the job. I also have the home depot lights but the problem is, I don't have room above my fixture to hang it. There is only about 4-5" of room above the tank so I need a different fixture that would be good for the cheato. Not looking for anything too pricey.

What do you guys suggest?
 
I thought the 50/50 would be better for the cheato? I will be heading to a lfs today so I will pick up a freshwater bulb and give that a try.
 
ideally you want in the 3000-10000k spectrum range, as close to 6500k as possible. Usually FW bulbs are between 3000k and 8000k.
 
I have a daylight bulb from home depot with the fixture but I don't have room to put that over the fuge. I need something more slimmer so it can slide into that 4-5" space.
 
cut the chaeto in half a couple times. it only grows from the ends. then yeah homedepot clip on light works great

I swapped out the bulb on the 10 gallon hood I have sitting over the fuge to a new 50/50 bulb but still no growth. The chaeto has been the same clump for a few months since I bought.
