Fuzzy stuff

Anyone know what causes a little clump of fuzzy algae-like stuff to grow out the top of an otherwise healthy favia colony?

Here's another...

How do I combat it, whatever it is? I've removed it with tweezers but it grows back.

Looks like "hidden cup coral," Phyllangia americana

First pic just looks like a dead spot and some algae grew on it. Second pic looks like feeding tentacles from a coral.

Is it on the rocks and sand or just on corals?

Any other pix by chance?

That coral is a keeper, yes, Phylangia Americana. I was referring to the bit of algae on one of it's many heads. Similar to fuzz on the favia. Any way to keep it from growing back after I tweezer it?

Indeed, if you ever need to trim :call2:

I'd say it's near impossible to identfify the species from the photos. +1 for snails and gfo.
