anyone read any of Song of Ice and Fire it or watch the first season on HBO?

i watched the first season and am now reading the first book. There are about 5 of us at my work that have all watched/read some of it, just curious if anyone here has.

The books are fantastic and the series is really good too. Martin is a great writer IMHO. That last book in the series is a doozy.
