getting rock ready ....

ok so im planning on using some dead rock in the system in january, ( yea i know its still 3 months away)

but ill be out of town in dec so the plan is to get it ready but end of november and then keep it live (i will add a feeder and ato or move it to a fellow reefers house)

so i dumped all the dead rock and filled it with salt water at 1.020 and added a heater and a powerhead.


what next ?

tinman, if you're using a shrimp you should put it in a women's knee high nylon sock. That way when it starts to break down your not trying to catch all that gunk.

Too late I already dropped it couple days backs I used a piece of rods food so it's ok ..


Now I have to wait till that ammonia reads zero, right ?

I agree. Although, I never did a 50% water change nor find it necessary to do so (my opinion, so BACK OFF). I just did 20% water changes post cycle and everything always turned out just fine.
