Glass panel on top of tank!?

The new setup I'm working on is from an older oceanic 110 tank. It has removable class panel covers on top, but there is one glass panel midline with the cross bar support. I'm guess sin it can't be removed. Does anyone have experience with a tank like this, and does that panel significantly affect lighting?

Ive seen those definitly can effect the light the one i had was so water stained might as well been painted . See if u can un silicone it from the center brace
