Glass to Wood Bonding

Looking to build my own glass tank.
I am considering using epoxy painted/sealed wood for the bottom.
I would use silicone to bond the LIG panes of glass to the wood bottom.
Any thoughts, experiences or links to reference material that pertain to this approach.
I understand wood tanks are quite common.

Thanks

Look up UrauJoey on UTube. He just did a 6 video series on a huge tank he just made. He goes into detail on the glass and wood sealing in video 3 I think it was.

Unless you want it viewable on all sides, it will be MUCH cheaper to do all but the visible sides plywood as opposed to glass. That's why they're so popular. When making a huge tank plywood is WAY cheaper than glass.

I am thinkiing of roughly 350 gallons and visible on three sides using LIG panes.
The Joey DIY video was very imformative (good suggestions).

Thanks for the response.
