Good place to buy acrylic/plexiglass

While building my sump I found a great source to buy acrylic sheets. Len's Ace Hardware in Addison will cut custom sizes of acrylic(They call it plexiglass). They do the cutting on the spot and in my opinion do it for a good price. I bought several 8 inch x 12 inch, quarter inch thick sheets of plexiglass for around 4 or 5 dollars a sheet. I just wanted to spread the word about my findings in case it may help out a fellow hobbyist.

Whups, that was a typo, it's quarter inch(.25) not half inch.

Ace and every other retailer usually sells extruded. it's basically meant as window replacement.

Are there any negatives to using extruded acrylic in a sump?

I found this site had good prices when compared to other stores and they sell the cell cast acrylic. You can specify exact sizes you need too.

Extruded Acrylic sheets are not as strong as Cell Cast panels of the same thickness. Just about every acrylic aquarium in operation was constructed with Cell Cast panels. If you haven't built an acrylic tank best to speak up now to get tips on how to do it right.
