I moved to Chicago from Japan 10 years ago. It was my dream to have a fish tank coz we didn't have room in the small 12'x12' apartment and the hobby is so expensive there and it's for rich people even though you can just go into ocean and catch bunch of cool fish anytime!
I started with 55g right after I moved here then 125g added 120g and 75g. Had gator gar, arowana, albino lungfish(was AMAZING!) bunch of piranhas, tesselata eel(big mistake) all sort of crazy predators. Now sold all tank except 125g and got back into saltwater.
I consider myself saltwater noob again since last I did was 5 years ago. Had massive ich problem already, did so much research and 5 week hypo. Finally added LR back. I ordered 300g tank over a month ago and still waiting to be completed. Got stand from craigslist and painted in black in my garage, drilled and connected fuge and W&D sump, got ASM GC-9 skimmer, Reeflo Dart pump, 36W UV, carbon,GFO reactor etc....It's gonna be FOWLR.
Current 125g will be RODI holding/mix tank(maybe use as QT also)
Here's fish list so far.*Updated 2/27/13
Miniatus Grouper
Niger Trigger
Clown Trigger
Picaso Trigger
Mappa Puffer
Dogface Puffer
Emperor Angel
Blueface Angel
Lemonpeel Angel
Aussie Tusk
Clown Tang
Sailfin Tang
Powder Tang
Banana Wrasse
Formosa Wrasse
Falcula Butterfly
Volitan Lion
Jeweled Eel
Blackedge Eel
Snowflake Eel
Goldentail Eel
Ghost Eel
Zebra Moray Eel
Whitemouth eel
Brazilian dragon eel
2 big hermits
All eels are docile and loves each other (glad I did tons of research before I got them mostly youtube) and don't even care about live food. I can't even wiggle foods.but most others(all small babies) just sit where ever except the emperor(thanks to madjoe) and Niger trigger. Eels are so boring just stick heads out and breeze but feeding time frenzy is just priceless every time
I am planning to add more eels and something actually swim a lot.
I will try to keep adding photos and updates......Enjoy!!
