Just started a 28g nanocube, still cycling, but thought I would join here (since another forums local page seems to be just classifieds)... been keeping planted freshwater for years now, first trip into salt! Hopefully with the knowledgeable community here it will be less bumpy, thanks! :)

Welcome to the community Brian! Enjoy that algae-less tank while you can, it'll never be that clean again, lol. You'll love saltwater btw, the colors are insane!

thanks everyone! the algae... only a matter of time lol. And yes, the colors are what drew me to salt, only so much green and red you can do in a planted freshwater

Hi and welcome to the boards. Nice tank, my first tank was a jbj 28. My advice with the tank is make sure you stay on top of the filter pads. They get nasty quick. Also if it's a metal halide hood, watch out for heat issues. Other than that enjoy and looking forward to your build thread.

thanks for the head up about the filter pads Stingray. Its compact fluorescent, but not for long. Going to give the Aurora puck from rapidled a try.

Welcome!

I have the Steve's LED retrofit kit for my BioCube 14. It's very easy installation and the LED will let you keep anything you'd like.
