I'm looking to get back into the hobby after leaving it due to back problems. I went onto CMAS and it seems the members moved to another site. Is this the new site? Thanks.

Joe,

I think the CMAS used to have regular meetings if I remember from reading on their website. Is there anything like that going on in an 'aquarium club' fashion with ChicagoReefs or any other groups?

We are in no way apart of cmas. This is an independent forum for the Chicago land area. We have the occasional meet up and bbqs but we haven't hosted any swaps other then the one I had at my house a few years ago. This is just a friendly place to come hang out and talk to people with the same interest as u

If you are talking about the CMAS forum on Reef Central than yes, a substantial amount of the members here used to/still belong to Reef Central. If you are talking about CMAS as a club, it's membership is extremely small now. I'm sure some people here are still members, but almost everyone I know chose not to renew their CMAS membership.

I'm a member of both sites, but there isn't much going on in the CMAS portion of Reef Central. The rest of that site is very informative though.

Welcome to Chicago Reefs though!
