Help: Issue with Apex PH Probe

I bought Apex 3 months ago and never hooked up the PH probe. Left it in the box. Today I open the box and it seems like the solution in the PH probe leaked and there's "salt creep" around the probe. Is it useless now?

Is the probe still in solution though? Leakage and salt creep is normal but if all the fluid leaked out then its toast. You can always try it out and calibrate it, if it swings a lot its done.

The probe was never calibrated or used or in solution. It was in the original box the entire time. I still see some fluid inside the probe but not a lot...

U can calibrate it again. Crazy old man

Google it JJ, if the PH probe dry it dead..you still calibrate but not work. If still in little solution and wet then should be OK. I did not say can't calibrate.

They don't need a lot of solution to stay wet, but they do need to never dry. You can always try to calibrate it and try it out. If it either doesn't calibrate, the PH on the controller is way out of wack or it shows massive swings, it's toast. It's worth a couple bucks in calibration solution just to give it a try. I used to chase PH numbers but now I only keep a probe in my tank to shut down the a Kalk reactor if it malfunctions.
