Help me out with Vortech please

Ok with tax season coming in a couple weeks I'll get to getmyself a little something. Right now I have two mp10 in my 75 and with my Mag9.5 as a return even turned down i have the perfect amount of flow. But. I'm looking to add flow to my 40b I just added. I really don't know what to do. I know if I move the two mp10 to it ill have plenty of flow. But will one mp40 be enough in my 75? I have always felt that two vortechs will always be better then one. I just can't justify buying two mp40. Would one mp10 be enough inthe 40. It's basically wide open just frag racks. So maybe I only need one mp10.

Yep 1 mp40, the 40's are effective up to 3'. Just right for your 40b. Fwiw thou, my bro in law had 1 mp10 on his 40b and kept everything except sps (he never tried sps thou)

ok sweet ill move the older mp10 from my 75 to the 40b. with the tunze 6045 and the mp10 there should be plenty of flow for anything in it. especially with it having just racks in it and no rock so its wide open.

So.....

For the 75gal should i get another mp10 or go big with the mp40. i mean the two mp10s in there now is great. but i have them both turned to 80% on reef crest. if i put a mp40 in the 75gal do anyone think it would be a waste and ill have to turn it way down?

I'm still new, but having just asked a similar question, I've got a cool link for you :)

Otherwise - I mean, if your tank is running fine on dual mp10s, then I'd say there's no real need to upgrade to an mp40 / mp10 unless you have some sort of further expansion ideas down the road that involve a 4 footer or longer.
