Hi all, so I am finishing the stocking of my 93 cube. Current stock list is as follows:

Midas Blenny
2 Bangai Cardinals
Melanarus Wrasse
2 Ocellaris Mated Pair
Flame Hawk

I plan on adding a Flame Angel, but I want one more fish, it can be a little expensive. I want a CENTER PIECE for my fish. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Cheers!

I always liked the copperband butterfly, it is very good looking, peaceful and majestic, at least IMO.

nothing says "Majestic" like the full trailing dorsal fin of a Moorish Idol.....but not an easy fish to keep....

Candy basslets are absolutely stunning, but are $$$$ and hide too much for my taste.

I went with a Bodianus opercularis (that appers to be turning into a kimura) as a "centerpiece"...also my avatar :)

A couple that may eventually out grow your tank, but would be "hot" color additions: Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum) or Red Tail Triggerfish (Xanthichthys).

That said, I'm more of a wrasse fan...chaoti, potters, etc. Right now DiversDen has a cool/rare Mauritius Vivien's Leopard Wrasse. Or if you can hold out until one comes around, and save up, for an Anampses femininus is

I have a 220 i will be setting up later this year. I may do a red tail or blue throat trig. Or a kole? Or purple. Then move him over to the 220

Seen them higher priced than that and sell faster!

They don't come around very often and it was a juvi.

Interestingly Feb is the month they tend to pop up!

I'm definitely getting a copperband butterfly for my 93 and possibly the idol. So +1 to those options

Your 93 is way too small for Idol, but again for a small one it might work .
I'm well aware of the size issue. I am going to get something that will do ok for a few years. Like I said though the 220 is being built this spring. I will have a larger home for future if need be. I will probably get a copper band or a kole tang.

Koles are nice but not sure they'd qualify as a "centerpiece"...the copperband would be the more striking of the 2.

Moorish idols are for sure a "holy grail" centerpiece type fish...half because they are crazy hot looking! half because they are notoriously difficult to kept alive for any length of time!

Think I'll go Idol or copper then. Aren't coppers difficult as well?
