Help! These are multiplying and stinging other coral.

Oh yea .. Those do look like Majanos aka tulip anemones as some ppl sell them ..

There is no sure shot way of killing them that I know of :(

They could be glass anemones too.

They do appear to be majano anemones. They are very aggressive to other coral. Looks like we need to stay on top of them. Thanks guys for your help. My buddy had been trying to figure out what they were for weeks. I knew I would get a quick answer on CR.

You can super glue over them ive seen burning em with soldering iron chiping em off the rocks zapping em with a zapper either way u chooose do it while they r in small numbers ive seen them take over a whole 90 gallon in 8 months

Majanos aka tulip anemones for sure who would ever buy these monsters good luck getting rid of them

He just told me that if your tank is small, a filefish may not survive; his tank is 600 gallons.

Also, he said it may eat LPS. He had to move his acans to his frag tank.

I've done all of the above, including taking out the rock and literally torching them... but if you don't want to take the rock out of the tank and ruin the structure...

Best way I've seen is to hit them with kalkwasser mixed with RO to get a toothpaste consistency...turn off the pumps and push a small amount into their open tentacles. They will eat and cover the rest of their body with it... seems to work pretty good. If you see that they grow back in a week in the same spot that means the paste wasn't thick enough. Also haven't noticed any detrimental effects to sps/lps/ or softies. Just don't get too crazy and have kalk floating around in your tank.
