So i got my refractometer yesterday from the group buy( thnks again fishbeard for setting it up).. So was wondering how do i use this thing lol.. This is my first time using this.. So i knw fishbeard calibrated it.. So frm reading the instructions i put a couple drops of my tank water into the main prism assembly and close the daylight plate.. Look through the eye piece and look through the scale correct? And also what is the salinity level i should have it between? Thanks for ur guys help.. Sorry if stupid question lol been using a hydrometer for so long thats why..

From transporting it around, Id still suggest double checking calibration with the solution so it reads 35 ppt on the right side scale with the solution that came with it. But you have it. 2-3 drops of tank water on the sight, close the flapper over so the water spreads evenly over the oval glass, allow about 20-30 seconds for temperature to equalize, then look in the sight and read the salinity on the chart.

Normal reef tank should be between 1.023 - 1.026
