Hey guys, my name is Steve. I've been taking aquariums seriously for the last 5 years or so dealing with both fresh and salt. Started off with my girlfriend and I keeping/breeding high-end fancy goldfish. If anyone here dabbles in goldfish or ponds you may have seen us at the MPKS and AGA shows at darien sportsplex the last few summers. Shortly after we bought and slowly started acclimating our green spotted puffer to full marine conditions which is when I got my first saltwater setup going. started putting in a few corals with him and got the idea to go bigger...
My current setup includes a 75 which has been partially set up for about 3 years now with rock and a few fish, sump/skimmer... I say partially because it was intended to be a reef... only as of late did I finish getting all the parts needed and actually building my DIY Cree XR-E fixture (soon to have a few T5HOs for added color/PAR). Right now I've got about 13 species of coral that are all doing great. The goal is to stock this tank with mostly rare/sought after/aquacultured coral species with the majority being SPS...
I'm all about [big] weekly water changes, high PAR values, excessive amounts of random water flow, no single filtration method... but above all, accuracy and stability... and I also have a tendency to research various products and topics to ridiculous, sometimes cripplingly-debilitating, amounts...
