I had those clove poylps start covering zoos and other corals - not fun at all. They might be pretty, but they're a pretty big pain in the butt, too. Some of those were hitchhiking on my first tank setup on one rock and it ended up facilitating a complete rock overhaul and 'reset' of the tank landscape. Now, when I see even one of those clove polyps, I hit it with Aiptasia-X and melt it away or scrub it off physically outside of the tank. Also, they do not necessarily only spread in a linear path by marching in one direction. I had different areas pop up in far parts of the tank. From this frustrating experience, I have developed a keen distaste for clove polyps.
