Homemade Magnetic Frag Racks

Just curious if anyone out there has made some homemade magnetic frag racks out of magnets and eggcrate?

What magnets did you use and how did you seal them?

I'm looking at making a couple cheaper racks instead of buying some acrylic ones while all my corals are in my temporary storage tank while my 60g cube is built.

I made one with a hydor powerhead magnet and eggcrate and one with the magnetic algae clips and eggcrate

BRS sells extra magnets for the N52 frag rack. I used these because they are small but strong.
 
I had an extra magnet algae scrubber and attempted with that.. The Keyword attempted.. Could never get a solid contact and it was a bad.. Don't recommend it.. I would go with what lrsug1 said.
 
At 20.00 for 4 magnets your better off just buying the rack however in my place where I have old racks where the magnets in the water side rusted out it's worth the 10.00 fix because the old rack has ears that give it stability that the homemsde ones don't causing them to flip down and drop all the frags .

Just something that occurred to me,

Have you consider stopping at your local hardware store and picking up some magnets and coating them with silicone.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea...Theoretically it should work!
