How to keep tank cool during the hot summers?

So i have a nuvo 8 and a biocube 14.. Its been hot lately and its been running up the temps of my tank.. I did the put a bag of ice and have it float in ur tank.. But i need something that will do for bout 12 to 16 hours a day.. I work for that long usually a day and would like to to hear somethings that u do with ur tank to keep it cool
 
take a bottle of water and freeze it and then add it to the tank. It will act as a large ice cube but the water will sty in the water bottle so it won't effect your salinity. I have done this before on a 20 gallon and 29 gallon tank before. You might be better off using 2 of them and switching back and forward.

I like this idea.. I may try it for tmmrw since i have work..
 
Yea it does work. I have 2 24oz coke bottles in the freezer just in case. But if I'm leaving for a couple hours I leave the fan pointed inside the stand.
 
Don't just put the fan towards the tank ... Make sure u face it right on the moving water ... It helps my tanks out alot too
 
Menards sold a little 5" fan that's super quiet for something like $6. I use them for my LED heat sinks. They're more quiet than the little computer fans, and a third the cost and way more air movement.
 
Tanks that small you'll need a chiller as the temp with swing rapidly with such little water volume. Also increased evap will cause major salinity changes that you'll need to keep up on again if you don't have an ATO because of the small water volume.

Idk have one yet but will be getting one soon.. The jbj ato.. Since my water evaps a little more since i put a protien skimmer in the back chamber of the nuvo..
