How to move a GBTA

There are a few different methods people use. One way is to slowly irritate the foot by touching it around all sides. Another is to use an ice cube around the base of the foot, just to irritate it enough to let go. The other way is to point a powerhead at it until it lets go.

Just be careful to not tear the foot.

Generally pushing at the foot with either your finger, or an old credit card or something is the best way. Main issue with the powerhead is making sure it is covered so it doesn't accidentally suck in the BTA. If you can take the piece of rock out of the tank it will make it easier.

the power head method has never worked for me. I usually use the credit card trick. but if the foot is way deep in a crevice you might have to break up the rock.

Just did this today. Pain in butt. I kept messing with foot. Put in front of power head to irritate but it was inside a crevice so I took a hammer and screw driver and chiseled around but clear of the foot. I got it out.

OK, unfortunately, its on the bottom of my live rock so getting it out from under there is going to be hard unless i take the rock out completely

sometimes i take a smaller rock and kinda put it on top of the bta. many times they get mad and start moving to another spot. when they are moving, their foot becomes swollen and they are super easy to peel off. this method may take a few days to work.
