How to secure ATO hose to top of tank?

Trying to setup my JBJ ATO for my 120. I'm using a 32 gal brute as the resevoir. I can't just run the ATO hose to the sump because the water level in the brute is higher than the ATO no mater where I place it in the sump so it creates a siphon as soon as it gets turned on the first time. So I need to find a way to run the output over top of the tank and preferably into the overflow box.

Any ideas? I need something very secure. I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be if the line came lose and my ato kicked on.

My jbj does not work with a aqau lifter times out before filled then u screwed unless u reset

Doesnt have to be pvc but can be its what i use . But can get a threaded bulk head and use a barb for hose either way will work
I might be missing something but if i used a threaded bulkhead, barb, and hose, wouldn't i run into the same problem of having no way to secure the output directly into my display's overflow. Pvc came to mind because the rigidity of it solves that problem.

I have the same problem with my ato I get siphon in the line I tried lowering the aqua lifter to the floor and I will still get siphon n now what I do its when I get home I check if I need to add water I just put the like back into the brute and till I see its full I take out the line again. It only does it when I have the brute full of water but when it's low like 5gl it's stops from siphon

Yeah the siphon only depends on the height of the water level of your ato reservoir and the height of your ato output.

Thats why your ato works properly when the brute is low on water... At that point the water level of your reservoir is probably lower than wherever the output is.

Yes that's why I'm gonna just leave the brute alone and get a 5 gl container

Wow i guess if ur doing it i shouldnt be complaining.

Lol but it's sometimes pain in the rear like yesterday I filled up the brute and I added water to the fuge and forgot the water line inside the brute and when I went back to check if it was filled it over filled it n skimmer was acting up water all over till I empty it out some water

Lol i kno that exact same situation. I would fill up my brute all the way. I would come home the next day and find that my sump was completely full, way past the fail safe ATO switch.

On top of that, my skimmer would be completely overflowing and mixing the nasty skimmate with tank water.

This happened a few times before i learned about that siphon thing but luckily my corals/fish never seemed affected.

Yea me too so I guess I'll just get a 5gl container and just fill it up when it's half way I'll probably gotta fill it up 2x's a week

Sounds like a plan. I have a 10 gal brute so im gonna see if I can get away with using that for the time being. Ill let you know what I end up doing for the permanent solution though.
