Hybrid Hammer advice

I'm still new to the hobby, so outside of water paramaters and some fish I don't have a ton of experience. I'm hoping someone can look at a couple of pics and tell me if this is normal. My Hybrid Hammer heads are starting to spilt. I see new tips that are small, round and attached to the tips with full sized heads. Is this how this type of coral grows or is there something wrong with it? Just trying to avoid bad things if I can help it. Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about in the photo's, TYIA!

Bueller? I can't be the only person with a hammer coral. :-(

Anyone else seen their hammers do this or is this not normal?

Ok good to know. I assumed they would sprout from the bottom and push the main mouth outwards since its not a branching hammer. I couldn't find anything after some googling about how they "grow" so I figured I should ask. Pretty wild way to grow if you ask me. :) Thanks for answering!

Thanks Jeff, not as cool as that Mitas though. If I ever get brave enough I might try fragging it since It's already doubled in size since I bought it. Just a dremel and some guts. :P
