i had a severe algae problem on my sand bed .. flow is abundant and always thought its cyano but not sure .. i think its kinda sea weed.
i tried everything i can think of .. added a second mp10, biopellets, changing light schedules, also pulled out the entire sand and cleaned it (this lasted a couple of days) then gave up.
it started forming on glass also and i didnt even care to clean soo annoyed .. despite of wifey herself saying it looks yucky and clean it.
now i changed a few things but all at the same time .. not sure what cleared the problem, its started curling up yesterday and today when i got home its completely gone with out a trace.
ok in short my tank went from looking like this

things i did
1. Changed the white lights schedule from 6hours to 5 hours
2. started rinsing the frozen food in ro water before feeding. (and fed pellets mostly this week )
3. didnt change water for the last 3 weeks
4. is it possible that my biopellets finally kicked in ? its been 2 months since i added
5. or is it possible that algae grew too much and consumed all nutrients and died off on its own ( i doubt it would happen in 2 days)
really dont know but im soo happy i never thought id see my tank like this again
