ID HELP ZOOS and NEM'

Hard to tell on the zoas, but they look like a punk rocker morph.

The nem appears to be an aiptasia. A quick google search on them will describe them in detail. But basically, you will want to nuke them. They are very invasive and will sting corals. Its fairly easy to get a handle on them when there are one or two.

I def google sthat before i got the rock 2nd hand, but ive had the setup for a few months the guy before me said he bought all three, they dont appear to be multiplying. ive been target feeding them mysis shrimp, seem to enjoy it! notice the smaller one looks as if it has bubble tips??

+1 it is aptasia. Get some aptasiaX and nuke them now
then go get some peppermint shrimp to keep them at bay. as for the zoa.....

seriously on the aptasia? the close one is huge though (for aptasia) 2-3" from end to end...and i also thought aptasia spreads really bad, these haven't done anything except move around a bit in the last 3 months.

man alive, and to think i actually had the big one in my hand and moved it to the rock with the other tiny nem, smh

There are several methods of eradication. Kalkwasser and hot water mixed into a paste and either injecting, covering, or getting the nem to eat it. You could also try lemon juice injected directly into the nem. Others have injected vinegar directly into the nem as well.

I've been battling them for a while, but the kalkwasser paste seems to really work. Every time I think I have them all, I see a new one spring up, which means there is a nem 0 hidden somewhere I can't see it.

Zach, if you touch the one that you think is a nem, does it retract right away or close up immediately? Aptasia usually does that. I am in agreement with everyone here, that is aptasia. It comes in many different colors and forms.

Aptasia x and peppermint shrimp did the job for me.

When I had aptasia I got a couple peppermint shrimp and they were gone in a few days. DD maybe you might want to get one for a week or so and see if you see anymore popping up. If you don't and you don't want to keep him PIF.

I have four pepps in my tank now. They may take care of the smaller ones, but the larger ones will eat a peppermint shrimp lol!

Lol I didn't have any that large then. The one OP posted looked huge compared to mine. that is why i didnt say aptasia right away lol

could be a pointy majano too. they tend to be less pointy on the tips, but that base is a little different than most aips I have seen.

Yep it spews stringy clear crap every where, and i would definitely say it doesn't like to be touched. It does seem to retract when bothered. Do all aptasia spread like wild fire? Thats really the only thing that had me thinking these were not aptasia.

It took mine a while to begin to spread. I think once they get comfortable enough, they then start spreading. I want to say it took roughly from January to late May before they took off.
