I have noticed that I have things that look like sesame seeds on my rocks in places. They look just like them. Same off white/tan color. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

Thanks

It's kinda hard to tell with the picture.
If you are using a camera phone, can you snatch one up with your finger and then take a close up picture with it on your finger.

Tomorrow night I will have my good camera at home and I will see if I can take a good pic of them. They honestly look just like sesame seeds. If they are harmful or bad I'm in for a big battle cause there is a lot of them!!

Best guess with the fuzzy pics would be sponges... but that many of 'em?
My pineapple sponges were like that, but they would not be mistaken for sesame seeds.

Post a better pic and the more knowledgeable will certainly chime in and help out.

Ok after trying with the Sony I can't get a better pic. Its completely a lack of camera knowledge but I can't figure it out to save my *ss!!! It's a Sony nex 5 I believe but I can't get a clear macro shot for anything and a regular shot is too far away.

If they have a tiny paint brush sticking out of the fuzz they are pineapple sponges. I had that many for a little while early on. The little mouth takes a while to show.

Oh those might be these little white worms that grow on the back of my glass. They are harmless if thats what they are

I removed half a dozen of these that I found growing in my tank. I didn't know what they were so I rolled them off and into my trash. If fols are curious about them, they can google scypha sponges, which is their proper name. I'm sure they will grow back.
