Just curious if anyone knows what this thing is. Some kind of slug? Just showed up one night in the tank. Its about 2-3" at this point.

Is it beneficial?

Wth is that 2-3" out of nowhere

Literally never seen it. Then one night I seen it on the glass. Next day it was gone. Showed back up a few days ago and now it's out daily. Seen it in the glass and on rock/coral now.

Me and my fiancé watch the tank all the time and never seen it until the other night about 2 weeks ago

Looks like some type of nudibranch...that thing is crazy! I would pull it out of the tank and put it in a bucket with a airstone and heater for the time being

It's been okay for the past few days. Doesn't seem to mess with anything.

Amazing what hides in rock. Especially at that size

Try a google image search for "frilled" or "frilly sea slug" or "sea hare." Several images came up that look similar but your blue images made ID difficult.
