Internet Provider?

Comcast, they are the only one available in my building. Service is good, fast. Watch your bill though, they start on promos and randomly change things. Or once they did an account review and decided I should be paying more and just started charging me without notifying me. I usually end up calling every 6 months to yearly to fix things.

i've been told by several customer service reps that you should be calling every time your bill goes up to get them to lower it...they will do it...i used to call every few months to threaten to cancel service and they would just lower my bill...but after the first few times they would just tell me straight up, just call and tell us you want to lower you bill and we'll do our best to give you whatever promotion is going on

with that said, i'm glad i don't have to deal with comcast anymore...i moved and my building now has "free" gigabit internet...i can download full 5gb movies in 5 minutes...i can't ever go back to comcast or any other isp that isn't gigabit

yea, I love my Comcast speed but! and this is a big but! prices are constantly changing. ..as was mentioned I find myself calling them 2-3yearly and they always get it back down.

Same as ATT but ATT are not go down the bill for you. I may change to Comcast...:(

you be much happier with cable speeds, if speed is what your looking for. I use a lot of Netflix and 3 pcs, 3 phones and of course my daughter's tablet and her YouTube addiction! really gotta get her off that crap!

W.O.W. cable/ Wide Open West

It's the BEST. I've had them almost 20 years now. If you have a question or problem you can get a "live" operator in under two minutes. Unfortunately WOW is not available in a lot of areas. GL

yea that's right! ATT will not lower your bill...my cable bill skyrocketed after our first 3 months introductory period...it went up to something like $80 for basic cable without any premium packages so i called and they wouldn't lower it, i threatened to cancel and they said ok...so they cancelled our cable...i had to call back 30 minutes later for them to turn it back on or my wife would have killed me...i took whatever offer they had which was something like $20 off each month

AT&T - No F***s Given

Just got rid of att. Trying out Comcast. Paying less for double the speed. Customer service rep. Told me just to call when it goes up and they will lower back down with no problem. Will see how it goes.

Have had WOW, Clear, AT&T, and recently switched to Comcast.... Comcast seems the best and most consistent. Like others said, you just have to call to get your bill lowered if it goes up.

I was switching from uverse to comcast to wow every years to take advantage of the new promotion i would cancel and start with the diff company. Being that the house was wired already for each orovider they would just come and switch the correct cable to get service you have to be carefull maida. I forget which one did the whole throtle down speeds during peek times or in the evenings
Basically

During the AM you would get the speed you pay for, but at 5pm when you and everyone else on your block is using up the lines...your speed would shrink to wackarnolds speed ..i think uverse and comcast did this.

WoW does not...wow will be what you pay at all times no peek time down crap when mrs johansen down the block streams netflix and her kid start pirating movies and you cant get your email in because your 16mbps connection dropped to 5mbps

I had 60mbps with w.o.w and was paying 50 a month. I called and asked them since my promotion period was up i didnt enjoy paying 80 for interwebz.
The rep said. He could give me 30mbps for 28 dollars for 18 months....if this continues i plan to stay with w.o.w for a while since they changed my plan no questions asked.

Thumbs up from me

EDIT.
Just because i was curious. I searched. This is from yesterday. He pays for 50mbps but would actually get 30mbps in the evenings (didnt read the whole thread but hes ranting about it)

So, yes 30mbps is still really good to most. But to someone needing the extra mbps server wise or just because you want to watch your faorite episode of the price is right online with no buffering. You get the idea. Get what you pay for not what every one else on your block left you with
