Is it over?

Does it look "wet" in the water, does it have a gloss to it? It might be shedding and will come back. Did you just move it or anything? I moved a devils hand leather and it was closed up and sliming for almost a week.

It did the other day yes..but..those big spots are new. The back side of it has an aptsia that keeps coming back!! :/

@ bam bam sounds good..I need someone to diagnose my system!

@emisis yes just added a BRS GFO/carbon filter last week!

So the next question is, Did they start the decline/ looking very pissed off after you installed the reactor? How big is your aquarium and how much GFO and carbon did you start out with?

150 gal RR..w/30 gal refuge (proflex4 sump)..2 cups each of GFO and carbon..and the leather finger has been in retreat for a whole..just today I saw the spots..GFO/carbon on since thurs..

I did rebuild the refuge over the weekend..added 10#'s of miracle mud plus a couple pounds of argonate and all new cheato..added 37#'s of argonate to DT as well. Also running a sterilizer.

I think that is your answer, too many changes too quick. I think they are extremely pissed off right now. I'm betting they will sluff off some slime and come back. Only thing you can do now is watch and wait............

Yeah, I'd say give them some time. They could be molting or upset by new cleaner water from the gac/gfo. Could take over a week for them to be happy again.

I'd consider backing off on the carbon and GFO and ramp them up slowly. Too much too soon could cause severe shock to your tank's inhabitants.

I had a leather do this for a long time after I cut it down and fragged it. Didn't show its tentacles for almost a month. I don't remember any spots though. I agree with the other responses of too many changes too fast. But, it wouldn't shock me at all if it makes a comeback.
