So i pulled the trigger on getting one of these tanks.. When i opened the box.. was very impressed with the design and overall layout of the tank.. plus i like the all glass look with glass screen top.. Was not disappointed when i bought the tank.. So my plan for this tank is to make it a Bare bottom anemone and frog fish tank.. and i'll be growing some sps and lps and softies in this tank.. I wont be using the light that came with the tank.. will use 2 PAR38 lights..

Supplies for tank:
hydor nano 240
2 PAR38 lights
AC30 (dnt knw what i'll do with it yet though)
Aqueon heater
Media rack(came with tank)

Here are picture of the tank with the mini stand and the led light and different angles of the tank. front back and top view..

Enjoy everyone:)

1 PAR 38 will be more than enough light for the 8 gallon. You'll actually have some light spillage, if you are going to use the ones from me with the 80 degree optics.
The nano looks nice :)

alot of people using the PAR's use the extension cord with a socket at the end, so you can hang it on the ceiling. I got mine from Ace hardware, but I've seen it at lowes too.

the one i use just clips on.. i'll probably take a look into the one u said.. but i dnt really want to hang it on the ceiling though..

Have you tried posting in nanoreefs.com usually, people there have very cool ideas about mounting PAR38's

no not yet, but i'll post a thread and see if they have some cool ideas and stuff.. By the way thanks for the awesome PAR38 lights.. my mini maxi and my bubble tip thank u.lol

i got a question for u guys.. do u thnk the nuvo stock light a skky light led can handle sps and nems? was thnking of using the light on another tank

here the specs on it..
* Daylight: 6 x 1W, 14,000K
* Moonlight: 4 x 1/2Watt, 456nm

30 degree optics in the center and 120 degree optics around the perimeter

Nice looking tank.

But I must say that that tank is too small for a frogfish, they are messy eaters. Oh and SPS like cleaner waters.

i thnk for about a 4 in max size frog fish.. i thnk'll be fine.. i'll be putting him in a nano cube first then my nuvo once i train it to eat frozen foods.. but if it doesnt work.. will probably get a clown pair

To me I think your pushing it in a 12-14g cube. But its a bigger tank than an 8g. So why would you start him in a 14g then move him to a smaller 8g. Why not a 20g or the 16 Nuvo.

I am sorry I just don't think its fair for the animals, especially such a delicate animal. To think it doesn't work out I will just get rid of it. Or if I find one with better colors.
