Some of u know that I was recently in Canada and had issues w/ my tank. I was gone for 11 days and of course when I'm gone I had issues.

Before I left, I hooked up 2 float switches for my ato on my apex. 1 regular on off, and 1 backup failsafe.

Sure enough while I'm working I start receiving emails from the apex telling me the sump is to high. Dan went over and checked it out and found out my float switches failed and that my ATO runs til it emptys the resivour lol.

So I decided to just turn off the auto top off from my phone and as I do that my apex crashes. I loose connectivity with it while I'm gone. I didn't think much of it cause I thought that I just wouldn't be able to turn things on and off and my fiancé was home for doing top offs for me anyways.

Man was I wrong. 2 days later I had my fiancé unplug my apex again just to see if I could get it back online so I can turn my ato back on. Instantly I start receiving emails again from the apex for issues. Turns out when my apex crashed 2 days prior my heaters defaulted to off like they were suppose too...

Tank ended up being 67*. It took 2 days to get down to that temp and it took almost 2 days to bring it back up to my normal 78*. I lost a few sps and a lot of sps looked like they lost color.

But on a side note, my alk is finally up to where it was suppose to be. I'm currently at 9.2dkh. When I checked it 3 weeks ago I was at 4.7dkh

Like I said this tank has been a huge pain in the ass lately. I've been trying to do everything right to prevent issues but I still end up havin them lol. I'm only home for another week before I leave back to Canada for another 6 days so hopefully I can get all the bugs figured out by then.

Sorry for the rant but I'm finally home and pissed that my tank looks poorly.

Currently

0.00 Phos
9.2 dkh
380 calc

So all numbers are in check even after 2 weeks with no water change. Hopefully I get this all figure out and up to where it needs to be again lol

Oh man sorry to hear that. When I saw your tank you told me you were just getting over a crash then too... how's the mandarin btw? I miss Tic Tac... lol.

Yeah I had 2 crashes last year. 1 from OD'ing on kalk (again cause of not testing) and 1 from My salinity dropping to like 1.020 for who knows how long.

Everything was doing fine like it always does before crashing again lol.

Tic tac is doing good. He's a eater. Nice thing about him is that he's active. I thought since having a small fish in my tank I wouldn't see him but he's always swimming around.

Crap, I never test while kalk dripping either.. hah. i'm going to stop my kalk drip right after this. You nailed it between the eyes with your "never ending headache" threat title.

Lol just so you know... my son called our smaller mandarin sprinkles... then we got a bigger one and I couldn't think of a bigger version of sprinkles other than tic tac. Glad to hear he's doing good.

Lol I haven't came up with a name yet for him. All of my fish are named after someone in the show the office except for my foxface who I call spike.

Chalk bass is creed
Ywm goby is toby
Snowflake is jim
Anthias is Karen
Leopard wrasse is ryan

Hey Joe looks great! Do you have the love rock all the way to the back wall? I am thinking of pushing mine back but worried that there will be no flow in those areas?

Some pieces are against the back wall some aren't. I haven't had any issues.
Good to hear the fish and most of the corals made it through.

Thanks. I'm glad all the fish pulled through

Man Joe, sorry to hear that, but glad everything is getting back to where it should be again and that most everything made it through ok. It always seems to be whenever we go out of town that's when stuff starts to break.

my nem has been looking awesome lately.

Just a few quick shots of things in the tank. Cant seem to get a good picture of my mandarine.

Lol with so many things I've changed its expected. U always gotta work out the quirks. If I've learned anything from the past is to glue every fakin rock! I had like 6 rock collapses in the past 4 months. Thankfully the one the other day nothing broke.

So I just found out it wasn't my float switches failing and causing my ato to keep running. I guess since my MJ pump doesn't pull enough watts (which I believe is less then 5w) u have to have it on one of the relay outlets.

I just switched outlets on my apex and i'll see if it fixes it. I was going crazy why I was receiving alarms and notifications from my apex cause my switches were being activated but the MJ pump just kept running. Now it all makes sense lol.

Picking up a coral I've been looking for forever. Fat head dendro thanks to @aquapros. Also picked up a new snowflake. I noticed my 1 snowflake was seeming lonely. It wouldn't really come out and just kinda hang out in the corner. Instantly when it saw the new Snowflake that I added it swam right up to it and started doing the harlem shake like the cool kids in the hood.

I've never seen anything like it. It was an instant attraction. Now my original snowflake is out and about hanging out with the new one.

Pix of my dendro to come soon :spy:

Haha mine do the Harlem shake all the time. First time I saw it I didn't have a clue what the heck they were doing.
