LED with Questions on how to contact ReefLED Lights.....

I now have my heat sinks all drilled, tapped, and all the LEDs with soldrless connecters mounted.

Next step is wiring and I undersgtand this but have some questions.
- Can not find any wiring info for the Hyperson 700mA 40w Dim Driver.
- Whats the min and max of LEDs on a driver for:
* Hyper Violet (6 per fixture)
* XT-E High Noon (8 per fixture)
* XP-E Blue (5 per fixture)
* XT-E Prem Cool White (11 per fixture)
* XT-E Royal Blue (32 per fixture)
I purchased 12 drivers for two fixtures of 66 lights each.

I have a Apex controller and how many of the RJ45 Apex wired cables do I need to control the above?

Probably more questions as I go but for now this will get me moving again.

Thanks

The Hyperon and Inventronics Drivers have a VF of 28-56VDC...You can drive 10-15 Cree X series LEDs in series

The hyper violet has a higher Vf so 6 should be fine per driver. If it blinks you might have to add another LED. This is the driver going into protection mode when the VF is outside its designed range.

The green/grey, purple and yellow wires are the control.

Cap the yellow and connect the green/grey to the red and the purple to the black wire on the APEX DimCab.

This link might help with more wiring questions http://reefledlights.com/how-to-diy-led/

Looking nice so far as you connect the 20ga wire its always good to test your connections this youtube might help as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08BkTTvpj2M

Bill - Thanks for the feed back.

I have check the connections with a meter and it found a few LEDs put on wrong, so it was great to find them prior to wiring. Then as I wired each one i again checked the wiring to see that it was good.

Could I run the (6) Hyper Violet in series with the ones on the other fisxture to make (12) in the string?
What would I do with the (8) high noon per fixture? There are not enough to be on two drivers (8 LEDs per driver) but too many to put on one driver (16 LEDs). Can I run three of the drivers on one Apex output?

How do I control two differently series with one DimCab?

Thanks

I did one fixture with all 45 LEDs 30 degrees off...DOOH...

Never made that mistake again...

No worries as its very easy to simply rotate the star to ensure the contacts are correct.

The hyper Violet has a max Vf of 4.4...4.4x12=52.8 so you should be good.

The DimCab is two channel. Originally designed to control Tunze or similar Pumps

Pins 1&2 are channel 1

Pins 5&6 are channel 2

Cap the extra wires.

Back with a question.

I have now wired the 66 lights to each 10 x 14 heat sink and looking to add fans. I know cooling is of the upmost importance so what is your recommendations for each heat sink?

Thanks

A single 200mm fan layed on top and blowing down would be perfect.

You could also go with two 120mm fans.

Given your heatsink this will keep the fixture around 80-85 degrees F
