Lesson learned

Don't you hate when u buy something not really knowing much about how it works and you take the persons word for it that it works, just to get all set to use it and it doesn't work! Lesson learned the hard way :(

Could work just fine, they run VERY SLOW. It takes hours to make up water with a RODI system. Just turning it on, at first it may seem like its broken if you have never had one before.

I don't have any idea what the psi is I have it hooked up to the garden hose and there are only drops coming out of it. At the rate it's coming out it will take a month to fill a 5 gallon bucket.
Maybe it is working I have never had one before just always lugged water from the store.

+1 I thought mine was bad until I did the math. 75 ÷ 24 = slow . That's why it's nice to have a holding tank:

Sounds like its working just fine depending how many GPD the membrane is rated for. The one I have is rated for 75gpd, and it is a slow trickle coming from the DI filter. It adds up quickly thou. Its like a pot of boiling water, just let it go and forget about it for a while.

you're probably not getting enough pressure into the system. A booster pump will more than likely fix your problem, but without knowing how much psi is in the unit, we can only assume that could be the reason of really slow output.

Also, if you are on a long hose you might be losing pressure from the stretch of it. Can you put it on a faucet or directly on the spigot to see if it improves slightly.

Go to Menards and buy yourself a PSI gauge. They are only like $10 and you will know your PSI. If you were closer you could borrow mine but with gas prices now a days I think you're better off buying one!

If you want to bring it over here I can check it out for you. Unless its a 150 gpd the pressure from the hose line should be plenty.

At 38 psi i used to make 5 gallons in 3 hours.

With a booster pump at 100 psi its a little over an hour for 5 gallons.

If the psi is low, it will only come out drips at a time. That sounds normal.

If nothing else check out the video from bulkreefsupply.com. They are incredibly informative and can probably answer any question you'd have.

When I 1st hooked up my 75 gpd system it took 2 weeks just to fill my 40 gallon tub then I got a booster pump and now it fills it in about a day

as they didn't have a 75 gpd pump just a 50 and a 100 so I got the 50gpd.
