Ok here is how the lighting cycle is setup n my biocube :)

10k 36watt pc light comes up at 8 in the morning and goes off at 3 in the after noon
Blue actinic comes on at 5 in the evening and stays till 10 in the night

Also my tank is right next to the west facing window do it gets direct sunlight for about 2 hrs in the evening

Is there anything wrong with this cycle ?? I get the actinics on in the evening cause I like that view and I'll be home only during evenings ....is that ok ??

Thanks

I have my actinics on my biocube go on one hour before 10k goes on and off 1 hour after 10k goes off ... IMO daylight by itself is nasty yellow color ... Run both 10k and actinic for a nicer color ... Then set them according to your schedule ... Mine goes actinics on at 11am , 10k on at noon ... Both are on till 830.. 10k off 830 pm ... Then run the actinics for viewing as you please ... Def recommend having both 10k and actinics on for 8hrs together

Interesting cycle. I'm curious why the tank would be dark for 2 hours between 3pm and 5pm? Why not run your 10k's AND actinics from 9am to 5pm which gives you 8 hours and then go to actinics for the rest of the night.
