Magnetic frag rock

I'd like to be able to get my frags off the sandbed, but I don't like how the frag racks look. I've researched online and found a way to do the magnetic frag rock. The main problem I'm having is I'm not sure what magnet will be strong enough. And I can't find any powerhead magnets ex. The oceanstream 1600. I can find powerheads all day but I just need the strong magnet. Anyone know of a place to get just the parts from powerheads without having to buy the whole thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can order the high strength coated magnets that blackrockreef uses in their frag racks directly from blackrockreef. I actually had the same idea to make a magnetic frag rock when I ordered them. Just never got around to it.
 
And honesty the magnets on the frag mag rocks i bought r super week and hold with coral on it. My buddy made his own useing a old algae cleaner mag and bought piece of light rock works good for him. If u want strong the sure grips r crazy strong to and usually can buy on ebay

Couple pounds quite easy for 100s. Rock pieces the size of 2 medium fists and the heavy mortar, plus the coral on the rocks and with 1/2" glass. I’ve got 6 mag-rocks and mag-shelves built of them.

I use potable mortar, either marcorocks mortar or BASF Emarco 400 and acryl 60.
