Majestic Angel - share your experience

Hi, I am looking to get a Majestic Angel for my new reef to be ready soon. After research , seems like this fish is fairly reef safe with SPS and clams. Please post your experience with it, if you ever had one or still have. Is it a big nipper, aggressive or not, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is pretty Reef safe. Doesn't touch my sps or zoas at all. Does nibble on my fleshy lps from time to time but nothing serious. I don't have a clam anymore so don't know about that.

from live aquaria "Blue Girdled Angelfish is not a good reef dweller, being prone to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles. It generally will not harm small-polyped stony corals and somewhat noxious soft corals."

Thank you, I always read LA and other info but I am looking for " personal" expierence with this fish :) , I know Angels are hit or miss and most of us just take chance on those.

Thanks, that's exactly what I am looking for. I am not worry about zoas or LPS as I will not have them in my tank.

I think dwarf angels are more non Reef safe compared to the larger angels. My blue face and emperor are the same as my majestic with corals but both my dwarf angels nip on sps and lps and leave zoas alone.

ive seen plenty in sps tanks they tend to love to eat acans. and I would watch with the clams from my experience if it was in tank first they tend to leave alone but sometimes they pick on new additions and then figure out hey this taste good then bye bye clam

Thanks Joe, I figured SPS should be OK , but I really want few nice clams, don't know if I want to take that risk.
