Well lets get the party started or should i say the build . As most u know the 150 gal and me cant see eye to eye so she is coming down but shes going to a good future home now thats a surprise u guys will have to wait for . Any who out with the old in with the new lol. So i picked up a 180 gal rr daul over flow with the exact set up of over flows i wanted and r used to. Btw craigslist and winter time can make for some killer deals if u have the patience lol 300$ it cost me looks new was running about two yrs still have the sticker for tank lol. I got the day off work tomorrow so i asked if i can come in and use the table saw and build my stand there i was given the green light so off to menards later to grab the wood and screws and pocket hole jig . Figure id get the build thread started
Equipment list stays pretty much same
My skimmer is a big swc with a diy neck cleaner witch is working awsome btw lol.
Sump will stay the 40 gal breeder it has enough space for everything i need so unless i find a sump i like better which i doubt this one will stay now haveing dual over flows i will be modifying fuge side a tad bit to acomodate the drain on right side .
Power heads will be 2 mp40's and i have 3 mp10's we will see how many I actually use
Main pump will stay the jebao dc12000
I will be swapping out the sand but the rock and rock structure will stay the same well least the structure i hope stays same u know how that goes lol.
Lights will still be the 8bulb ati t5 lights 4ft i dont care about the sides mainly wanted the 6ft for swimming room so maybe some chalices on floor on low rocks or just open swim . I will take kessils off the wall and mount in a new canopy on the sides of the t5 this way i get better spread then i do now.
Plan is to keep the hoist to move canopy but havent decided on floating or full canopy that just lifts with the hoist to do maintenance. My wife hates the over spill of the floating get a glare on the boob tube. Lol
New equipment is i will be adding a calcium reactor if i figure out how to work it i will have my dosing system installed also just in case . Also i have a full apex and break out box i will be installing i only have 1 eb8 so far so my reef keeper elite will be installed and controlling most of it since i have like 6 pc4s running this system i cant afford another 2 eb8 right now lol i will be playing with the apex and getting familiar with it also while system runs with the reef keeper .
I think thats it . Once done my tangs will be super happy and hopefully this tank behaves should be moving my coral out soon then im working on empting my qt tanks so i can move my fish in and get this tank down to make way for new one . Will post pics as the come
