so about 2 months ago i started kinda mountain biking on the dirt paths around swallow cliffs. and i loved it. Great stress reliever. bout a week ago i cracked the frame of my cheap mongoose mountain bike and im looking for a bike. THING IS MOUNTAIN BIKING IS A MORE EXPENSIVE HOBBY THAN FISH KEEPING!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha so im leaving from one hobby that was not that bad to a hobby thats more expensive. o man what have i gotten myself into. there goes the relieving of stress. anyone here into it???
 
I ride too just switched from bmx after 20years + to a haro thread dirt jumper. Rays mt bike park is awesome we go up to the one Milwaukee. I am just a single speed guy, basically a big bmx bike. We do come up to the city to ride street, I bring the 20in for that though.
 
te bike im getting is only 500 bucks but still thats alot. its a specialized rockhopper. what bike do you have walt? and yeah dave those freestyle mountain bikes are awesome thing is theres not alot of places around here for that stuff IMO. bike trails theres alot specially the single tracks in palos just found those. theyre like heaven.
 
I got a trek 7000 all aluminium very light with kevlar tires upgraded shimano shifters. But we just hit the paths in the forest preserves buy r house all dirt and some hills nothing to rough it follows the river farthest we gone was 20 miles so far
 
ohh nice now that i have lost weight this would be totally something I want to do, need to start saving for next spring

I have a Trek/Gary Fisher. Have to check what model after washing it down.
 
Lol cool I got a 2009 specialized rockhopper for 150 today I seen the same bike on eBay for 400+ a few days ago this guys said he just didn't have time to ride and needed cash. Can't wait to hit those trails now

i have an old trek 700 i bought for 50 bucks, will be buying something newer/better for next spring now that im taking biking seriously. Since my gf is big into spinning we might buy one of those for winter riding.
 
Mtb is one of my favorite things to do! I actually built a trail near my house on a1/4 mile abandoned lot there's a few Nice jumps I added with plans for a cliff jump soon. I ride a Gary Fisher tarpon

i started going to palos and swallow cliffs but there is a few other parks with single track i wanna check out. then i cant wait for mt chesnut in galena. theyre going to open for downhill riding next spring for the first time. so i came into the hobby right on time :-)
 
I got a rocky mountain etsx70 that I'm looking to sell for 1200 or b.o. Only ridden 2 times. Just don't have the time. Colors are blue and white.
