so im gonna move my nuvo 8 gallon into a nuvo 16 gallon today ..

Question is ...

once i move everything i still would be adding like around 7 gallons of new water ..

would this be ok to the corals if i make sure the salinity and temp are same for the new water ??

whats the best way to do it ??

If you are moving the sand as well you are going to have a small cycle when you release all the debris that have settled in the sand. The extra water is going to help dilute that spike. I would probably move everything over, add the extra water and then do a decent water change the next day just to be safe.

I'd move all the water/sand/rock. After u get everything moved removed half the water and refill with all new sw

Rinsing the sand will help. Or just use new sand.

yea im planning on just moving all the rock work .. then slowly take all the water out of old one and fill the remaining water in the new tank ....

then later this week rinse the sand get some more and add more rock and sand

can you get some water and rock in the new tank and start it cycling first or are the tanks in the same place?

If you do it this way IMO you should avoid a cycle. Just rinse the sand really good before you add it. When I went from the 29 to 65gal, I doubled everything Sand, Rock and water. I did not have a cycle. You are doing the same thing almost.
