can a mp10 be programed to go in to night mode automatically or does it have to be put in manually every night i understand how to set length and speed of motor but not how to set when to go off at a certain time im not sure. thanks

You have to start the night mode at the time you want it to start. If the power goes off or you disconnect it you have to reset it. (credit to Walt for teaching me this)

To enable it you hold the first two buttons together til the knob change colors to something. Then you hold them down again til it pulses white.

This is good to knw.. So basically when all my lights go off press this and how do u pre set it so it goes out of night mode when the lights come on

thanks G thanks walt I thought you had to program it at the time you want it to go off every night but it never really said that in the manual thanks again guys. got it for xmas and still playing with it. what mode do you guys like best?

This is a full manual tells you how to do it

Although the key is you have to START it at the time you want it to go in to night mode. If you want night mode to start at 9PM, you have to set it AT 9pm for it to go in to night mode at that time. Then choose how long it is the night mode 6/8/10/12 hrs and it will rinse and repeat UNLESS you disconnect it OR the power goes out.

pm sent to you jeff it also explains also how to set what speed you want to run at night mode

Here's a link to the manual. All of the modes and options are described in it, as are the instructions on setting them up. There's more to an MP10 then most people realize. Take advantage of these expensive pumps and what they can do for your tank.

not to hijack, but is there a good reason other than noise for night mode? It's not like the currents in nature change much at night and I think my SPS like getting whipped around when they are fully open at night. Just curious if there is a biological advantage to a less active current at night.

You're right. I use night mode simply for the fish so they can sleep easier. Otherwise I wouldn't use it.
