Multiple wrasses in a 55 gallon - strategies...

I recently introduced a Carpenter's flasher and an orange back fairy wrasse into my 55 gallon mixed reef. The tank already had a Lubbock's fairy wrasse along with a scribbled rabbit fish and a gold stripe maroon clown.

Introduced the two new wrasses with the lights out, the next day found out my Lubbock's was terrorizing the orange back. So I decided to catch one of the fairy wrasse and put it in an acclimation box for a few days to see if the aggression would die down. Ended up being the aggressive Lubbock's who got nabbed by my fish trap, so into timeout he went.

Does this have a chance of working? What is The likelihood the Lubbock's will resume is ornery ways when I free him or of the orange back becoming the aggressor?

Theyre trying to establish dominance.

If you were put into a kids pool. Hed probably pee on you because he was there 1st.
So theyre trying to figure out whose most dominant and thats it. Usually will settle. You can try the box method. But when releasing they will start back up.

Usually id release them at lights out for sure. Because they can find a place to hide. Or simulate a black out during the day and observe.

Good luck.
Only have had one wrasse actually kill another. But usually it works out.
Maida had like 6 wrasses at one point i think

....i had 11 at one point in a 6ft long. They mostly need swimming space as they dont really graze on alage.
