My 13 month old taught me a lesson today.

This morning, I couldn't find my toothbrush. This is a relatively common occurence, as my toothbrush is one of Jude's favorite toys. I did a walk through of the house but it was nowhere to be found. Jude was sitting in the family room, so I went up and asked where my toothbrush is. He promptly stood up, walked into our bedroom and pointed at the closet doors, saying, "ah, ah!" I said, "No Jude, not mommy's shoes," and proceeded to search the house again. After another run through of the house, I asked him again, this time frustrated and not as a joke. He immediately took me back to the closet. This time I decided to listen. I slid open the closet door, and there was my toothbrush.

And that's my lesson in listening to my kid today.

I just wouldn't have imagined that not only he knew what toothbrush meant but then he ALSO remember EXACTLY where it was.... Craziness...
