Haha, about 6 months ago I started siphoning the sand out slowly with each water change. I do like the look of the sand, but it was becoming too much of a pain for me to keep clean. Some guys say stirring the sand bed is all they need to do to keep it clean. That was never the case for me, so I got rid of it. Haven't looked back sinceThe only thing i see wrong with this tank and pics r wheres the sand lol . Looks good nice coral colonies
Thanks! I meant to reply to this sooner, but I was away from the tank all weekend and couldn't remember the combo exactly.Welcome to CR! Beautiful tank! Would you mind sharing your bulb combo? I just picked up an ATI 8x54 powermodule for my 120 and I'm not sure what I wanna do for bulbs. The color you have looks about what I want.
Thanks. Haha, yeah he's got a few dollar bills wrapped up in GR as well. I sort of wish there were more Meijers in Chicago. Although Mariano's has been pretty awesome so far.Nice looking tank![]()
Welcome to CR, grew up just a little north of GR myself. You forgot the third wheel, Fred Meijer.
Thanks! I meant to reply to this sooner, but I was away from the tank all weekend and couldn't remember the combo exactly.
From front to back:
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus
Korallen Zucht Fiji Purple
ATI Coral Plus
ATI Purple Plus
ATI Blue Plus
Next time I buy bulbs, I'm going to do away with the ATI Purple Plus and get Korallen Zucht Fiji Purple instead. The KZ Fiji Purple just has a richer color to it in my opinion.
Sounds good, would you say the color in the pics is accurate to what you see in real life?
I'd say the pics are a bit more blue than the color in real life. But honestly, the color looks better in person than what I can capture on the iPhone. Things seemed a bit washed out in the pictures.
