My Colorado Sunburst Anemone is arriving today!!

My Colorado Sunburst Anemone is arriving today. It is in transit as I type this via FedEx from Oklahoma by priority overnight. It should arrive between 8:20 am and noon according to FedEx. With the lovely Chicago temperatures, hopefully it arrives alive and in good shape. Planning on letting him warm up while still in the box for 30 to 40 minutes, and then put his bag or container he is in inside the tank and let him float for around 40 minutes to an hour to get used to nice warm water again, and then nicely place him in the tank. Thinking I will put him on the sand near where I want him to be and then not fuss with him. Wonder when I should think about feeding him, and thinking about feeding him mysis shrimp or something similar, also something my clowns will enjoy as a snack. Going to also put a filter media bag over the powerhead before placing him in the tank to try and protect him from it.

You might consider turning your flow down for an hour or so until the nem settles. As far as feeding it, you could try after it has settled. Personally I wouldn’t worry about feeding until I see it settled and exhibiting a relaxed and comfortable behavior.

Very exciting, we look forward to pictures.

Put him on a rock and he already went into a crevice in the rock. Have the powerhead covered with a filter bio bag thing. Was hoping he would have stayed up higher on the rock but maybe it’s better he went into the crevice for now to relax from his travels
