So I got up to do my water change and found my MP10 control box was partially in the sump. The Velcro gave way and it fell into the sump. The light was flickering so i was hopeful, but upon opening it and removing the circuit board it looked like this.

anyone got a spare? what do they cost? what should I do?

Ugh, sorry to hear about that. That's the one thing that people often complain about the most is the velcro.

I'm not sure if they sell the circuit board separately, but they do sell the drivers.

Cool, yea i just went to their website and they want $55 for the replacement driver. Maybe someone is selling one used??

I would rather mount it outside the tank, but my kids would mess with it so it had to go under. 7 months and no issues, then this!!! *sigh

You may want to look into those 3M "velcro" strips. They're all made of plastic. Same one's used for the Ipass transponders. Actually, if you stop by one of the Oasis Illinois tollway locations, they'll give you them for free.

Happened to me twice and that I blame Ecotech for using poor Velco and knowingly know that, this happens so it voids the warranty... Upgrade the Velcro to the heavy duty stuff and it will never fail on you again....

sorry to see that happened. you might be able to find an old box from someone that upgraded to an ES driver. good luck.

that ipass stuff would be great!

Looks like $63 shipped from Ecotech.

Guess a crappy mixing pump will have to suffice until i find a replacement.

Dang man thats stinks, like you said they sell replacements but theyre not cheap. Ill keep my eyes open for anything that may help ya. Check out the marketplace on Nano-reef.com people are always selling mp10s. Buy a used one and try and sell yours at a discount. Just a thought. GL
