Need help selecting a tablet.

Hey guys...I'm thinking of getting my two older boys a tablet each for Christmas, but I'm trying to find one around $100 bucks, nothing super fancy nor expensive. Just something they can play games on, get on the internet via my home wifi, and download apps from the android market. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

There were Uniden tablets at Big Lots for about $60. They looked decent and I think they're rebranded Polaroid tablets. Big lots does carry a few other brands too; I think it depends on the store location. The other place I would try is Fry's in Downers Grove. They advertise a no name one that runs on 4.0 (ice cream sandwich) and I think I saw one advertised from about $70.

I would like to add one more thing: I decided against those tablets bc of my desire for its longevity. I bought a really cheap e-reader and it lasted only six months. I was lucky and got most of the $ back. If I had spent the money on a Kindle, Nook, et al. I would still be using it. JMHO

I was about to Say iPad minis till I saw the budget in mind. But a lot of the android tablets are pretty good especially since they're only going to be for the kids to play games. If they whee going to be adult used an iPad is well worth it even if it's and older model. Or If you don't mind spending a bit more go for the kindle fire. Be even a nook???? Not sure of how those are tho

Kindle fire is nice man.. Wifey loves it.. But not android market

I thought about the kindle fire also, but she's not much of a book reader. She'd need something that'll download the apps for her job. Thanks for the suggestion bro, keep em' coming. :)

You really get what you pay for with the tablets. Don't waste your money on the lesser brands, my employer sells the cheap knock off Polaroid ipads every Black Friday, we see about 25% come back before the end of year. You're better off saving the money/headache and getting the iPad mini, and making the kids share.

Thank you for that input...and I think I'm gonna have to agree with you about getting what you pay for. I may just pass on the idea of getting them one...they aren't in that sharing phase now. Darn tweens. :)

What about the nook? Anyone have opinions on it? What does it run

I have the Asus Transformer, which is an awesome Android tablet. If you want to get the dock to turn it into a tiny netbook type machine, even better.

Awesome tab for the price.
